Grand Canyon
Cory the Clown visits the Grand Canyon and explains how the Grand
Canyon was formed.
Have you ever seen a canyon? The Grand Canyon is in Northwestern
Arizona. Water in the Colorado River carved out the Grand Canyon. It
took five- to six-million years of the water flowing, which slowly
dug into the rocks, making a giant hole, which is now the canyon. The
canyon is four to eight miles wide and one mile deep. The rocks at
the bottom of the canyon are almost 12 billion years old (that's
really old!). You can take a mule ride down to the bottom of the
canyon.
Go to your local library and explore the pages of books for more
information on the Grand Canyon.
